May the verse be with you!
The Bard from Stratford ventures into a galaxy far, far away. In Shakespeare’s Star Wars, two worlds meet that are not usually mentioned in the same breath. But why not? After all, the characters from Star Wars have much in common with the dramatis personae of an Elizabethan drama: There is a wise (Jedi) knight and an evil (Sith) lord who holds a beautiful princess captive. The youthful hero who rushes to the rescue is also present. In addition, there is a battle-tested daredevil and his loyal companion.
Ian Doescher has reworded this drama in the style of the great master Episode IV and used all the advantages that the new medium has to offer. The result is a unique reading pleasure.
‚The Bard in top form. Complex characters, revealing monologues and intelligent wordplay. Everything we expect from the master.‘ Timothy Zahn, New York Times
