O friends, mortals, come in, look here,
To see the progress of the story right away.
Luke Skywalker returns home to the desert sea,
Lets Han rise from carbonite soon.
After True, A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back, this is the third volume of the Star Wars-Shakespeare saga and the conclusion of the original trilogy. The dramatic events between Darth Vader and his son Luke Skywalker seem to have been influenced by Shakespeare’s plays. Therefore, it seems completely natural and hardly surprising that Vader’s monologues make his transformation from Saul to Paul more comprehensible and understandable. Vader is indeed a Shakespearean character of the first order, whose development in this play reaches its culmination.
‚The Bard in top form. Complex characters, revealing monologues and intelligent wordplay. Everything we expect from the master.‘ Timothy Zahn, New York Times
