The Silmarillion – Hardcover

The Silmarillion tells of the events of the First Age – that distant epoch of Middle-earth, to which the heroes of The Lord of the Rings look back in awe. Here it is for the first time with over 40 color illustrations by Ted Nasmith. Middle-earth lay in twilight under the stars… a time when the elves created great things. But most beautiful of all are the Silmarils, the gems in which the light of the trees is enclosed. The light, which is older than the sun and the moon… But Melkor, the master of betrayal, robs the unique Silmarils. Read among many other events of the First Age, how Feanor, who created the Silmarils, and his sons do everything to wrest them from the dark power of Melkor. The Silmarillion is the first work that Christopher Tolkien has published according to his father’s plans after his death. In these stories, the ground is prepared that the hobbits and their companions will enter.
